After being eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the Colorado Avalanche, Winnipeg Jets forward Tyler Toffoli has shed some light on what he will do when his contract officially expires.

Along with fellow teammates and free agents Sean Monahan and Dylan Demelo, Toffoli preached that the open market was something he worked hard towards, and that he planned to take full advantage of it.
"Tyler Toffoli says he's taking things day by day with respect to his UFA future. Contrasted with DeMelo and even Monahan's answers, it seems a lot more like free agency is an opportunity he's worked for and hopes to explore" - Murat Ates, Winnipeg journalist
Toffoli, who had 55 points in 79 games this year split between the Jets and the New Jersey Devils, has been a consistent scorer throughout his career, notably his 28 goal, 44 point season with the Montreal Canadiens in the shortened season, playing just 52 games.
Toffoli enjoyed moderate success with the Jets in his short stint, but he is due for a massive pay raise, making it more difficult for the Jets to keep him, however Kevin Cheveldayoff should do his best to keep one of the NHL's most consistent scorers on his roster.
