The 2023-24 NHL season has officially come to an end meaning that Winnipeg Jets goalies Connor Hellebuyck and Lauren Brossoit have won the William Jennings trophy as the best goaltending tandem in the league.

The Jennings trophy is awarded to the goaltending tandem that has the lowest goals-against-average in a given NHL season. This year, that honor goes to the Winnipeg Jets, who have given up the fewest goals of any team in the league.

This award goes to the goalie(s) (minimum 25 games played) on the team with the least goals allowed during the regular season.

Unfortunately, backup netminder Lauren Brossoit will not technically qualify to have his name put on the trophy as he only played in 22 games this season. The cutoff to qualify is 25 games. However, his contributions must be noted as he put up stellar numbers this year.

Brossoit went 14-5-5 in his 22 games this season and posted a gaudy .928 save percentage as well as a 2.00 goals-against-average, actually besting Hellebuyck in both categories. The tandem likely would not have won the award if it were not for his performances this season.
