Scott Arniel had a lot of good things to say about Nikolaj Ehlers, and people know its an indirect message for him that he needs to keep producing at that level and won't tolerate any setbacks next season.
Nikolaj Ehlers will be playing for Denmark in an Olympic qualifier later this month and Scott Arniel believes this could be a great opportunity for Ehlers to have a good jump-start to the season. Arniel continued to stress that the team needs goals from Ehlers as well as his speed and agility in order to really carve out a nice spot for himself in the Jets top-six forward group.
While it is still possible that Nikolaj Ehlers gets traded, the chances of him starting the season with Winnipeg continue to increase with each passing day, especially after the comments his coach just made. Ehlers did have a solid season with the Jets last year, scoring 25 goals and 61 points in all of the team's 82 games.
