The Blackhawks and Ducks gifted hockey fans with their game last night. It was by far one of the most fun games either team has been in this season. It all started with a run-of-the-mill scrum.

Scrum Goes Nuclear After Blackhawks Goalie Joins Action

About halfway through the 3rd period, a scrum broke out in the Blackhawks zone after a stoppage in play. Part of the chaos was an extended tilt between Ducks defenseman Pavel Mintyukov and Blackhawks forward Tyler Johnson.
During the chaos, Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek joined the fray. This lead to a whole heap of extra problems for the officials to deal with.

Gibson Tries To Drop Gloves With Blackhawks Goaltender

Seeing Mrazek enter the action sparked Ducks goaltender John Gibson to skate down the ice himself. It appeared as though he was hoping to fight the Blackhawks netminder.
Unfortunately, the referees stepped in, preventing the two goalies from going at it. They denied the fans of a very rare occurrence in the NHL. Gibson was subsequently ejected for crossing center ice, all for nothing after all.
Second year in a row we were *THIS* close to a goalie fight #FlyTogether #Blackhawks

Bedard Sets New Career Record In 7-2 Win Over Ducks

Amidst all the chaos, Connor Bedard quietly had the most productive night of his career. He scored once himself and added four helpers for a career-high five-point game.
