Connor Bedard's incredible rookie season has come to a screeching halt after he sustained an injury on an open-ice hit. The play occurred in the first period with the Blackhawks on a power play. Devils defenseman Brendan Smith demolished Bedard with a huge hit.

As of now, Bedard has not returned to the game and is still being evaluated. The Blackhawks continue to lose major pieces to injury in what has been an unfortunately unlucky season. This would be a huge loss for the Blackhawks going forward if Bedard misses any significant time.
