Physicality is a part of the game of hockey, and every player risks getting hurt when they step onto the ice. This was the case today during an AHL matchup when Winnipeg Jets' top prospect Brad Lambert got crushed in open ice and had to leave the game.
Lambert was streaking down the ice during a game against the Laval Rocket, Montreal's affiliate, when he received a punishing hit from Tobie Paquette-Bisson.
Lambert seemed alright at first but ended up heading down the tunnel to seek medical attention. Physicality isn't always a huge part of this skilled youngster's game, but he'll need to learn to protect himself if he wants to avoid further injuries in the future.
