The Winnipeg jets decided to go all in on their current roster this year when Mark Scheifele and Connor Hellebuyck agreed to matching seven-year contracts. So fat the team has managed to be competitive for a playoff spot. They currently sit 3rd in the central with a 6-4-2 record. Now they might be getting some reinforcements soon.

Vilardi Makes Progress On Returning From Injury

Winnipeg jets associate coach gave the media an update on Gabe Vilardi's status this morning after the team's practice. He stated that the 24-year-old forward skated on his own for the first time since suffering the injury on October 17th.
The Jets acquired Vilardi last offseason from the LA kings as part of the return for Pierre Luc-Dubois.
The Jets initially gave us a 4-6 week timeline for Vilardi's return. That was 23 days ago so it seems that he is still on track to return within that time frame. In three games this year he's recorded one assist. He should bring a boost to the Jets' top-six upon his return. Winnipeg plays their next game tonight against the Nashville Predators at 8PM EST.
