The Vegas Golden Knights got some bad news today making their defense of their championship a bit harder.

Stone To Be 'Out Awhile' According To Kelly McCrimmon

The Golden Knights dropped their contest against the Nashville Predators 5-3 last night but that will not be the teams biggest concern. Rather, captain Mark Stone left the game early and did not return. We did not get an update on his status until just a few moments ago.
Thanks to #VegasBorn GM Kelly McCrimmon for joining Pierre McGuire and me on the @sickpodnhl today!

Some injury notes from McCrimmon starting at 24:42 mark of podcast:

-Mark Stone will be 'out for awhile'
-Jack Eichel and William Carrier getting closer to returning
Stone has dealt with chronic back problems in recent years. As a result he has not played more than 60 games in a season since 19-20. However, one report suggests that this injury is not related to his back, which could be good news for Knights fans.
Regardless, the team will be without their captain as they approach the trade deadline. It is not clear how this injury could affect the team's plans, but it could potentially serve to give them a little extra cap space. Be sure to stay tuned for more updates on this story.
