Expectations are sky high for Connor Bedard, as he is set to make his NHL regular-season debut in 12 days. The most recent first overall selection has been considered a generational talent, the likes of Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby.
Debut Game
In the early parts of the game, Connor Bedard looked fantastic.
He would later get the second assist on Phillipp Kurashev's goal in the second period that opened up the scoring.
The game would head toovertime where Bedard set up the winning goal.
Connor Bedard finished the game with 21:20 of ice time to lead the forwards in ice time. He also won 62.5% of his face-offs.
Additionally, Bedard had five shots on net to lead the Blackhawks forwards, as the only other player to shoot more than one shot was Andreas Athanasiou. Connor Bedard finished the game a plus two to quell any talk about his defence play.
What is Next?
It is unknown how many preseason games Connor Bedard will play, but rest assured, he will be a fixture of highlight reels throughout the exhibition games he is in.
Once the NHL season gets started, though, the games will be more intense, and Connor Bedard will have to up his play to keep up. The kid can do it, and he will also pile up the goals as well.
