In his latest paper, Pierre Lebrun of The Athletic talked about the top candidate to be Team Canada's GM if the World Cup of Hockey takes place in 2025 or if NHL players participate in the 2026 Olympics, Doug Armstrong seems to be the top choice.
Armstrong's credentials are impressive. He recently served as Canada's GM during the World Hockey Championships in Finland. Plus, under his leadership, the St. Louis Blues won the Stanley Cup in 2019.
Pierre LeBrun also mentionned that Team Canada might be inclined to introduce fresh talent into their executive ranks. An example? Young GM Kyle Dubas, now with the Pittsburgh Penguins and previously with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
