The 2003 WJC Team Canada roster is now under investigation for reasons eerily similar to the 2018 Team Canada investigation.
2003 Team Canada Under Investigation
It was just revealed by TSN that the 2003 Team Canada World Junior Championship roster is under investigation for the same reason as the 2018 Team Canada roster.
It is alleged that six players will be convicted if found guilty. Here is the list of the members of that roster.
Carlo Colaiacovo, Pierre Parenteau, Brooks Laich, Ian White, Scottie Upshall, Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Kyle Wellwood, Joffrey Lupul, Jay McClement, Derek Roy, Brendan Bell, Gregory Campbell, Matthew Stajan, Jordin Tootoo, Jeff Woywitka, Steve Eminger, Nathan Paetsch, Marc-Andre Fleury, Alexandre Rouleau, David LeNeveu, Boyd Gordon, and Daniel Paille
Rick Westhead of TSN reports the following:
A person familiar with the matter told TSN that Halifax police have committed «significant» resources to the investigation and have continued in recent weeks trying to contact witnesses who may have information to share about the allegations.
This could be the true reason why the 2018 investigation is taking so long. They are trying to solve two investigations at once and it is resulting in more time for the names to be released.
Hopefully, when it is all said and done, the victims get justice and the criminals get charged for their actions.
