Despite not playing much in the playoffs, veteran winger Phil Kessel played a huge role in the Vegas Golden Knights 2022-23 season, and now, it appears he wants to play on.
With over 1,000 games under his belt, Phil Kessel has been an offensive contributor anywhere he's gone in his career, becoming a major part of three Stanley Cup Championship runs.
In 1,286 games for Pittsburgh, Toronto, Arizona, Boston and Vegas, Kessel has tallied 413 goals and 992 points, but it appears the 35-year old isn't quite done yet.
Kessel has revealed to teams that he still wants to play, and will accept if his ironman streak comes to an end if he's needed to sit out, and now, an NHL Insider has given us an insight into what the interest is around the league.
At this point, it's unlikely that Kessel will play for a team that's not contending, as the interest in him no doubt comes from teams well in the playoff hunt in 2023-24, and if this report is any indication, he could be getting a one or two year deal before the season begins.
