Leon Draisaitl's new contract, which will kick in after the 2024-25 season,
contains a massive raise over the $8.5 million AAV the star currently carries with the Edmonton Oilers. Draisaitl has managed well over a point-per-game over the course of his career so far, and shows no signs on slowing down yet at the age of 28. He is a five-time All-Star, and a winner of the Art Ross, Ted Lindsey, and Hart Memorial trophies. The Edmonton Oilers are firmly in "win now" mode, with the goal being to get to the Stanley Cup finals again in the very near future.
