Dekhockey in Quebec as well as the hockey world is once again in mourning as 21-year-old Zachary Bourassa passed away in the middle of a game from cardiac arrest.

This weekend, a terrible drama moved the Dekhockey community, as goalie Zachary Bourassa passed away during a tournament in Trois-Rivières. The sad incident was learned through social media yesterday, and this morning, more details on this sad loss came from Marco Normandin.
"According to our information, early in the game, the young goalie felt unwell and called for help before collapsing into the arms of one of the officials. According to information gathered from his family by Radio-Canada journalist Kassandra Lebel, he suffered cardiac arrest."

Zachary was a dynamic and well-liked player, in whose behalf his team reached the finals. When this victory moment turned into a nightmare, Zachary collapsed right on the spot. For all practical purposes, Zachary was dead at that very moment, despite efforts for his resuscitation, led by a nurse and a respiratory therapist, performing untiring chest compressions.
Witnesses reported that Zachary "appeared fine throughout the day," and that made his death very sudden and unexpected. Having just celebrated his 21st birthday, his loss sends the friends, family, and the whole Dekhockey community into deep sorrow.
Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, and everyone who was affected by this incident.
