The Dallas Stars veteran Joe Pavelski shared his plans to retire this summer in his end-of-season press conference.

Following a lot of rumors about this issue, Pavelski talked with the media after the Stars' tough elimination from the Western Conference Finals in six games at the hands of the Edmonton Oilers. He revealed that he doesn't plan on being part of a NHL team next season, putting an end to a 18-year career.
"Dallas Stars forward Joe Pavelski says «this is it for me.» Says it's not official official, but said it was known for a long time that this was his last go. «Plan is not to play next season.»"
Drafted 205th overall by the San Jose Sharks in 2003, he made his NHL debut in 2006 and played 1332 games since then. He also played 201 games in the playoffs and tallied over 1200 points in total. Unfortunately, he never won a Stanley Cup, and his dream of lifting it semmingly reached a dead end.
Wherever he played Pavelski had a big impact on his teammates. Following a lot of rumors of his retirement, many Stars players got emotional when they were asked to open up on what he meant to them after losing game six:
Do you think Joe Pavelski should be inducted in the Hockey Hall of Fame?
