Sportsnet releases TV ratings for game seven of the Stanley Cup Finals
Sportsnet released the TV ratings for game seven of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers in a recent post.
In hockey, it doesn't get better than game sevens, especially in the Stanley Cup Finals.
This year, hockey fans got to see the Edmonton Oilers get back from a 0-3 deficit to force a seventh game against the Florida Panthers. Ultimately, they fell short and the Panthers won the Cup.
Sportsnet just revealed how many people tuned in to watch that historic game, the one that led to the Panthers' first cup in franchise history.
According to the sports network, an average audience of 7.55M watched the game, becoming Sportsnet's most-watched broadcast:
"HERE FOR THE CUP! 🏆
Last night's Stanley Cup Final game 7 is Sportsnet's most-watched broadcast ever, reaching 15M Canadians, with an average audience of 7.55M. It is also the most-watched program ever on Sportsnet+, reaching 1.93M streamers."
It's safe to say that hockey has never been more popular. As more and more talented players join the League, the fanbase will continue to grow.
Sportsnet will definitely look forward to beat that mark next season. Do you think they'll be able to? If a Canadian team reaches the Finals once again, anything could be possible.
