The Winnipeg Jets have a big time decision to make on top prospect Rutger McGroarty, and now their GM has fired a shot towards him.

This off-season has certainly been an intriguing one for the Winnipeg Jets, and with plenty of trade rumours surrounding the organization, it's safe to say that the team could still undergo some big changes in the coming weeks and months. One player that those rumours revolve around is prospect Rutger McGroarty, who hasn't endeared himself to Jets fans this summer as his behaviour has reportedly noted him as a red flag.
Now, Jets General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff has seemingly sent a subtle shot towards McGroarty when discussing young forward Brad Lambert.
Interesting quote from #NHLJets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff today:

«It says a lot about a player like Brad Lambert who doesn't have to come here but wants to come here and be a part of it and take on that leadership role."

Obvious praise for Lambert. And perhaps a dig at McGraorty.
With experience at the University of Michigan, there were hopes that McGroarty could come in and lead the next generation of Winnipeg Jets, but it appears his unwillingness to appear at events he perceives as beneath him will cost him. It's unclear what the future holds for Cheveldayoff, the Jets and McGroarty, but as of right now, all signs point to a trade in the near future.
