The Boston Bruins are proving to be the frontrunners to sit atop the standings for this year's regular season. However, to succeed in the playoffs, they still need to make some additions down the middle of the ice.
Lindholm is having an okay season, with 15 points in 23 games so far this year. However, he is in the last year of his contract. The Flames, unless they see him in their long-term plans, should take advantage of the potential return they could get from Boston, instead of seeing him walk away for free this offseason.
That, of course, is assuming the Flames don't think they have a shot at winning it all themselves this year. Currently, the Flames sit in the middle of the pack at 10-10-3. As the deadline approaches, we will see if they become sellers.
