The Colorado Avalanche are involved in a captivating trade scenario after parting ways with Tomas Tatar in a deal with the Seattle Kraken, freeing up crucial cap space. With that flexibility, the Avalanche could be looking to make a move soon.
There have been reports of discussions with two intriguing centers who could potentially fill the void in their roster.
Rumors are swirling about the Avalanche's interest in both Sean Monahan from the Montreal Canadiens and Morgan Frost from the Philadelphia Flyers.

Blockbuster Trade Incoming with the Montreal Canadiens?

Currently at the top of the Central Division, the Avs will certainly try to reinforce their lineup ahead of the deadline, with the ultimate goal of replicating their 2022 run.
Sean Monahan, with his vast experience, high hockey IQ, natural talent, and low salary, would be a great fit in Colorado. However, the Montreal Canadiens won't let him go that easily. He plays an important role in the Habs' top six, helping young players to grow.
Morgan Frost, on the other hand, at 24 years old, still has a lot to learn in the league. The center had a career-high 46 points during last year's campaign. This season, he's tallied eight points, including three goals in 19 games with the surprising Flyers, who currently sit at the third rank in the Metro Division, with a 16-10-3 record.
The Habs and the Avs have often been trade partners since Kent Hughes took over as GM in Montreal. Each deal more important than the other, with key players like Alex Newhook, Artturi Lehkonen, and Justin Barron involved. With what could they surprise us next?
