Maple Leafs Acquire A Defenseman From The Anaheim Ducks
Several reports are confirming that a trade has been completed between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Anaheim Ducks. The reports confirm that the Maple Leafs have landed defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin in a three-team trade.
Lyubushkin will go to TOR with 75 per cent retained. Ducks get a 3rd, Hurricanes get a 6th
The trade is essentially between Toronto and Anaheim with the Carolina Hurricanes retaining some salary in the process and picking up a draft pick.
The Maple Leafs get a physical defense-first defenseman who will eat up minutes on a bottom pair. The Ducks get a third-round pick for a defenseman who is set to be a free agent.
As the trade deadline approaches it remains to be seen if the Toronto Maple Leafs will make a bigger deal to build up their team.
