Today the Edmonton Oilers continue their active offseason making another trade this time sending away former first-round pick Xavier Bourgault.

Reports are coming in that the Edmonton Oilers have made a trade to swap prospects with the Ottawa Senators. The Oilers have traded away Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson to the Senators in exchange for Roby Jarventie and a 2025 4th-round pick.
TRADE: #Sens acquire Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson from the #Oilers in exchange for Roby Jarventie and a 2025 4th round pick
TRANSACTION: We have acquired forwards Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Roby Jarventie and the #Sens 2025 4th round draft pick.
With this trade, the Edmonton Oilers bring in winger Roby Jarventie to the prospect pool. Last season he was one of the Senators' top prospects with 20 points in 22 AHL games. He also appeared in 7 NHL games. He also brings some much-needed size at 6'2.
For the Senators they add Xavier Bourgault who has struggled to see his offense translate from the QMJHL to the AHL. With a new role in Ottawa, he could see a better opportunity to let his offensive flair come out.
Over the next couple of seasons, this will be a trade to continue looking back on and evaluating over time.
