As we got closer to the trade deadline , there were whispers about the Vancouver Canucks discussing a potential three-team trade with Boston and Pittsburgh. However, a new report shed light on the internal damage that the rumor did to the Canucks.

Trade Deadline Rumor Involving Elias Lindholm: The Canucks Had Some Damage Control To Do

Elias Lindholm, who's been traded from the Flames to the Canucks a few weeks ago, was involved in major trade speculations. Elliotte Friedman reported that when Lindholm found out about the rumors, the Canucks had to quickly manage the situation.
"The Canucks did have to do some damage control with Elias Lindholm. They weren't happy it got out they even remotely considered moving him. (It was hard to tell who was angrier: Vancouver about that, or Los Angeles about speculation of who might have been involved in an Ullmark move.)

In the end, I don't believe the three-way between Boston, Pittsburgh and Vancouver came anywhere close to occurring." Friedman said.

Friedman also mentioned that the trade never really had a chance of happening. However, the mere thought of trading Lindholm, especially so soon after parting ways from valuable assets for him, might not have sat well with players or fans.
Lindholm will be a free agent after the season. With that story, odds of seeing sign in Vancouver seem thin. Especially considering that his performances have been underwhelming since the trade. With the playoffs approaching, it'll be interesting to see where the team ends up. If they have a memorable run, this could influence Lindholm's decision.

Do you think the Canucks will keep Lindholm this summer?
