The Oilers have had a huge recovery over the course of the regular NHL season, having risen all the way from 2nd to last to 10th overall in the league. With the trade deadline only a few days away, it is no wonder Edmonton is looking to refurbish their lineup to give them a better chance in the playoffs. However, it seems that they may have brought up a potential trade that could shock fans.
Evander Kane is a 32-year-old left winger who joined the Oilers for the 2021-22 NL season. He has 21 goals and 15 assists in 58 games, which is not a terrible record for the current season. Yet, it appears he has been brought up in trade conversations held by the Edmonton leadership team.
While he has been a powerful player, avid hockey fans and reporters have discussed why Kane may be up for trade. He has not produced nearly as much as he has in his earlier seasons, as is expected with age. He also spent a period of time off the ice recovering from injuries that cost more to the team than it brought. Additionally, he has a history of being a tough teammate to work with.
