Evgeny Kuznetsov terminated his NHL deal and has went to Russia. His new team and salary have finally been revealed, and it's one of the biggest shocks ever.

Everyone has been wondering for weeks what Kuznetsov's plans were, and he finally revealed it all. He has just signed with SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL for the next four years.
As per Sport24.ru, Kuznetsov's four-year deal will pay him 92 million Roubles, which is the exact number he's worn in his NHL career. Before everyone gets too excited, 92 million Roubles is only equivalent to $1 million USD, which means Kuzy will be making only $250,000 USD per season. That salary puts him more than half a million dollars under the NHL league minimum!
"SKA will make a very nice move, which is sometimes practiced in the NHL - for example, Sidney Crosby signed a contract with an average salary of $8.7 million per year in honor of the fact that he plays under number 87. Evgeny Kuznetsov will receive a four-year contract in St. Petersburg, the average salary of which will be 92 million rubles."
Kuznetsov has done it all in the NHL, winning the Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals back in 2018 and being named two times to the NHL all-star game. He decided to walk away from the one year he had remaining on his NHL contract with the Carolina Hurricanes, which would have paid him $8 million, meaning hes now lost $7 million in salary, and potentially even more.
Congratulations Kuzy, you are now the holder of one of the biggest pay cuts in modern hockey history. You did your country proud.
