Three hockey players for the QMJHL's Cape Breton Eagles were involved in a car crash with one of the players still in hospital.

News this week in the hockey world really hit home, as to how quickly life can change. One moment everything is going great, and the next things can take a turn.
On Monday afternoon, three players from the QMJHL's Cape Breton Eagles had a near-death experience. They were in an automobile accident, but it seems they dodged a bullet. Two of the players have been released from hospital, while the third remains in hospital for observation.
In the team statement, it was indicated that forwards Angelo Fullerton and Lucas Romeo, with defenseman Brayden Schmitt were en route to Cape Breton when this terrible accident happened. Fullerton and Romeo were released from the hospital late on Monday night, but Schmitt is being kept at the hospital with his injury.
They are very thankful, including their general manager Sylvain Courtier, for the care that the players received, relieved that no one in the other car was injured. They further said that they were confident that Brayden Schmitt would be out of the hospital in the next few days.
But above everything else, it's a huge relief that all those who were involved came out unscathed and received the needed assistance.
