Sudden collapse of Slovakian swimmer at Olympics requires urgent treatment

Slovakian swimmer Tamara Potocka receives medical assistance after collapsing

Some terrifying news broke out at the Paris Olympics this morning as a young Slovakian swimmer Tamara Potocka had to be rushed to the hospital after collapsing.

Tamara Potocka was competing in the 200-meter individual swimming event and as soon as she got out of the water, she immediately collapsed to the ground. She is a young 21-year-old and sadly had to be rushed quickly to the hospital, leaving all fans in attendance in a state of shock.
TVA Sports reported that the ones in attendance who saw Tamara fall to the ground said she did so like a rock, and hit it hard.
"Quickly, the emergency services took her in, placing her on respiratory assistance and on a stretcher." - TVA Sports

The Slovak Olympic team confirmed to Ben Burrows that the cause of the collapse was an asthma attack.

Since then, she has received oxygen therapy and communicated during the intervention."

It was really frightening to watch, and a terrible way to end this event.

Another wild day in the Olympics took a terrifying turn when Slovakian swimmer Tamara Potocka suddenly collapsed after her swim.

Medics quickly placed an oxygen mask over the face of the young Slovak, who was lying motionless, before carefully loading her onto a stretcher and rushing her out of the La Defense arena as her rival watched on in horror.
Here's hoping Tamara makes a quick recovery, and if she's able to do so, we hope to see her compete at this year's Olympics again.
