The Anaheim Ducks have a bright future, but they aren't quite ready to compete again, and it could mean their biggest name in Frank Vatrano is available.

Despite some incredible talents coming through the organization, the Anaheim Ducks just haven't taken their big step forward, and now a top free agent pickup from a year ago could be available. According to a report, Anaheim recently discussed a trade with Tampa Bay to move their 2023/24 All-Star Frank Vatrano, and while the deal has since fallen through, it shows their intention to move the 30-year old.
#Bolts and #FlyTogether talks have stalled on a potential Vatrano trade. Ducks want more than Perbix and picks for the winger. Opens up possibilities for #Isles #Canes #Sabres #LGRW #NJDevils and #NYR.

Anaheim really taking their time assessing the value of their assets.
Given that the majority of this team is still under 23-24 years of age, it makes sense that the Ducks would like to continue getting younger, and after Vatrano tallied 37 goals and 60 points a year ago, his value may never be higher. Along with Vatrano, the team are reportedly taking calls on both John Gibson and Trevor Zegras, and after adding another high quality forward in the draft, it appears they're ready to continue the rebuild with this young core.
