Mattias Ekholm shares meaningful message to city of Edmonton

Edmonton Oilers defender Mattias Ekholm shared a very inspiring and heartfelt message to the city of Edmonton on social media.
Ekholm, who was acquired in a trade in 2022 in return for defender Tyson Barrie and other assets, had been a staple on the Oilers blue line since his arrival, and he took to social media to let Oilers nation know how much he enjoyed his first full season as a member of the Oilers.
Edmonton, Our first full season has now come to an end and we are beyond grateful for the way this city has welcomed us. Although we wish we could have written another end to this amazing season, we will always remember how a hockey team and a city came together and shared one big dream. Keep on believing, see you in the fall. -Mattias Ekholm
Ekholm has become a key piece of Edmonton's D-core, pairing very nicely with Evan Bouchard, who had a breakout season in his first full campaign playing with Ekholm.
This quote should bring hope to Oilers nation, as even though they were one win away from becoming champions, the Oilers still have an incredibly bright future, and Ekholm looks to be a massive part of their future success.
