Tensions continue to rise between the Boston Bruins and Jeremy Swayman, and his agent has released a very cryptic statement on the situation.

Swayman and the Bruins have seemingly been very far apart in contract negotiations throughout the entire off-season, and the Bruins brass has been oddly aggressive when answering questions about the ongoing discussions, with Cam Neely crossing the line today in a press conference.
Neely was asked about the status of Swayman's contract negotiations and his responsive was incredibly passive aggressive, stating that «I would have $64 million reasons to play right now», potentially hinting that the Bruins offered Swayman a contract worth that dollar amount.
This statement by Neely, in addition to comments made by Bruins GM Don Sweeney throughout the off-season seem to indicate that the Bruins think they're offering a fair amount for Swayman, but a huge update in the saga emerged when Swayman's agency made a statement regarding Neely's comments.
Swayman's agency claims that the Bruins never presented them an offer that included $64 million dollars as the dollar amount, and that they were extremely disappointed and would be reassessing their options in the coming days, a shock to NHL fans everywhere.
Swayman has been one of the league's most consistent goalies since his emergence in the 21/22 NHL season, posting a .919 save percentage and a 2.34 GAA since his debut in, both incredible numbers to be putting up in today's NHL, and numbers that seemingly make him worth the money he has been asking for from the Bruins.
It's incredibly rare for an RFA holdout situation to play out like this, and I personally think the Bruins might have gone too far on Monday, with Neely's comments being incredibly insensitive towards Swayman and his camp, not to mention completely fabricated.
Hopefully the Bruins can convince Swayman to stay, but at this point a trade request could be imminent, and the Bruins front office would be to blame.
