The Calgary Flames season high losing skid stretched to six games on Wednesday night, and now, they've made a shakeup to their roster.
A veteran placed on waivers
After the loss, Elliotte Friedman reported that a veteran could be placed on waivers today, and he was right, as the team placed defenseman Jordan Oesterle on waivers.
The 31-year old veteran has been off to a slow start this year, with no points scored in his four games played this season, and now, he's part of the team's big shakeup.
A slow start
While many fans are targeting the likes of Nazem Kadri and Jonathan Huberdeau for their slow starts, they've enjoyed Oesterle's play early in the year, despite his lack of production.
With Dennis Gilbert and Ilya Solovyov having much more potential, this is a move however that makes sense for Calgary, and if Oliver Kylington can return to the ice this season, the depth on the blue line outweighs the need for Oesterle, so this is a move that makes sense.
