Now, NHL Insiders are linking them to Calgary Flames star Elias Lindholm, who's salary this season just so happens to be the amount of cap space they cleared in the Tatar deal, making the connection an obvious one.
As of right now, it doesn't appear as though there's been any significant traction in a deal, but with the Avalanche looking to make a push for their second Stanley Cup in three years, they could do a lot worse at their 2C.
In 31 games this season, Lindholm carries a -2 goal differential, but has posted a solid 7 goals and 20 point campaign playing with a lackluster forward group, and if the Avalanche can use some of their picks and prospects to pair him up with their talented forward unit, it could be the best move at the 2023-24 NHL trade deadline.
