The Colorado Avalanche 2022-23 season was defined by their major injury issues, and now, it appears next season already has them under an injury cloud.
A key goaltender
After undergoing off-season surgery to repair an adductor injury, it appears that Pavel Francouz is still not yet fully recovered, and will begin next season on the shelf.
#Avs appear to be examining options on the goalie market. Sounds like Pavel Francouz has not completely recovered from his offseason adductor surgery and there is concern he will miss some time.
In 2022-23, he made 16 starts for Colorado, posting an 8-7-1 record with a .915 save percentage and a 2.61 GAA, and now, they'll be looking for significant goalie help.
Goaltenders available
While it's not going to be cheap to find a goaltender at this point, there's several out there, with Edmonton's Jack Campbell, Calgary's Dan Vladar and Boston's Jeremy Swayman potentially all available, but it's going to cost them.
With captain Gabriel Landeskog already out for the year, this is another injury hit that Colorado simply didn't need, and now, they'll need to make some moves if they are to make another Stanley Cup push.
