Elliotte Friedman Connects Corey Perry To The Edmonton Oilers In Latest Report

During an appearance on the Jeff Marek Show Elliotte Friedman joined to talk about NHL topics naturally Corey Perry and his free agency frenzy came up. On the topic of Perry, Friedman mentioned that he wonders if the Edmonton Oilers have serious interest.

As of this moment, the reports have indicated that teams are doing their own investigations into Perry. If the Oilers do decide to pursue Perry it would not be the first time that they signed a controversial player in the middle of the season.

In January of 2022, the Edmonton Oilers signed Evander Kane after multiple scandals surrounding him. At the time Kane was viewed as a player that might not be worth the risk associated with him.

The Oilers and Kane would go on to have a successful partnership and he would end up signing a four-year extension with the organization.

While Perry likely would not sign an extension even if things go well in Edmonton he could be a key piece to help the depth of the team. Perry showed in his time in Chicago he can still be an effective scoring option.

As Perry gets closer to signing all eyes will be on the Oilers to see if they are still in the mix.
