Ryan Whitney recently took to social media to call out Canadiens fans for booing Connor McDavid, the best player in the NHL, for seemingly no reason, and he didn't hold back.

Ryan Whitney Bluntly Calls Out Canadiens Fans For Booing McDavid

Connor McDavid has proved year in and year out that he is one of the best players in the NHL. This year is no different, as McDavid has effectively led his Oilers out of the hole they dug at the beginning of the year, with 57 points on the season in just 37 games played.
Last night's game against the Montreal Canadiens was no different, even if Montreal fans thought they were better than McDavid. In overtime, they decided to boo McDavid, which he responded with assisting on the game-winning goal. Popular podcaster and former NHLer Ryan Whitney took to social media to call out Canadiens fans for their antics.
"All these moron Canadien fans booing Mcjesus, here's the game winning assist right in your face."

Canadiens Fans Bite Back on Social Media Calling Out Whitney for Hypocrisy

Canadiens fans were quick to respond on social media to Whitney, pointing out that he himself has said it is the fans' right to boo whoever they want. Tonight, it just happened to be they wanted to boo McDavid, which really is just a sign of respect.
Clearly, Whitney is just sticking up for his alma mater Oilers, while McDavid probably couldn't care less about what happens in the stands while he racks up his point total and the Oilers set records.
As seen on Habs Fanatics - "A very popular host strongly criticizes Canadiens fans and calls them big morons"
