Marian Hossa is a household name for NHL fans with over 1300 games played in his career for 5 different teams. Recently, he opened up about a decision that could have had him in an Oilers Jersey.
Hossa the Oiler
Hossa recently opened up about his past decisions and revealed that there was an option on the table for him to go to Edmonton on a long-term deal.
Marian Hossa admits that he turned down an 8-year contract from the Oilers with crazy money to sign a one-year deal in Detroit
There are plenty of reasons why Hossa didn't want to go to Edmonton. Even if the money was there, he could have foreseen a better chance at the cup with Detroit that season, as they did end up making it to the finals that year.
He could have also seen a better fit with his play style in Detroit. In that lone season that he played with the team, Hossa was able to put up a whopping 40 goals and 31 assists in 74 games.
