The 2023 NHL summer has been a fun one thus far, with many exciting moves changing the trajectory of many teams, but with the trade market still running hot, there could be some big moves still coming before the 2023-24 season begins.

Another star on the move?

Star player movement is at an all time high around all sports, and the NHL is no exception, and with San Jose not looking to compete anytime soon, moving the three-time Norris Trophy winner makes sense.
After another 100 point season, his value is solid, but with a cap hit exceeding $11 million, any deal to make for Karlsson will be tough, but now, we've got another mock trade that could send back to the Eastern Conference.

Karlsson to Pittsburgh

It's no secret that one of Karlsson's preferred destinations is the Pittsburgh Penguins, and this latest mock trade could be the one to finally see him there.
Sharks receive: Mikael Granlund, Jeff Petry, 2 first-round picks and 2 second-round picks.

Penguins Receive: Erik Karlsson (30% retained)

Given how hard it will be to make the salary work, this is a solid deal for both teams, and with Karlsson on board, Pittsburgh may have a good shot at a big turnaround in 2023-24.
