Two more sleeps, that's it. Then we will find out what the Edmonton Oilers truly think about young talents Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway. The question on everyone's mind is whether they'll match the offer sheets from the St. Louis Blues for either-or both-of these players.

Yet it's possible the dilemma that's giving management nightmares and has fans sweating not just because of hot summer days, will involve the Vancouver Canucks.
The plan to keep both would involve placing Evander Kane on Long-Term Injured Reserve (LTIR) to start the 2024-25 season and potentially trading Cody Ceci or Brett Kulak. However, this isn't exactly a long-term solution. Kane's stint on LTIR might only provide temporary cap relief, and other teams are reportedly demanding a high draft pick to take Ceci or Kulak off GM Stan Bowman's hands.
A trade proposal Kulak to Vancouver in exchange for defenseman Tucker Poolman.
The Oilers get Poolman, who has one year left on his contract at $2.5 million was on LTIR all of last season and is expected to miss the 2024-25 season unless his migraine issues are resolved. The Oilers could put his cap hit on their own injured list and let it collect dust while freeing cap space.
Meanwhile, the Canucks would clear get Kulak, a reliable defenseman with two years left on his deal at an AAV of $2.75 million, which would give them a slight upgrade on their blueline. While rumors have been swirling about Ceci being the one to go, it makes more sense for Kulak to exchange his orange and blue sweater than Kulak, another defenseman in Broberg despite the hefty $4.5 million cap hit, and the potential upside in a forward such as Holloway.
