The Dallas Stars faced a tough blow during a crucial moment in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals, against the Edmonton Oilers.

Chris Tanev, one of their key defensemen, had to leave the game after blocking a shot from Evander Kane in the second period. Despite managing to skate off the ice on his own, Tanev eventually headed down the tunnel with a limp and didn't return for the start of the third period.
Initially listed as questionable, Tanev unfortunately didn't return for the remainder of the game, which ended in a 5-2 loss for the Stars, as Edmonton tied the series at two games apiece.
Addressing reporters post-game, Stars head coach Pete DeBoer expressed hope that Tanev would be available for Game 5, but didn't provide any further details on his injury.
Tanev, who was acquired from the Calgary Flames at the trade deadline, has been a key asset for the Stars' defensive lineup throughout their playoff run.
Despite only playing 8:37 in that game, Tanev managed to make his presence known with three blocked shots before being sidelined. Now, all eyes are on his recovery as the Stars gear up for Game 5 on Friday.
