The Edmonton Oilers season has been a disaster thus far, and after a quiet summer, one of their key acquisitions may be on his way out very, very soon.
Unfortunately, the team have now started 2-7-1, and Brown is yet to record a point in nine games, and now, the Oilers may have themselves a way out of the mess they made.
As reported, the contract the team gave Brown this summer came with a catch; after playing 10 games with the team, a bonus of $3.25 million would kick in, so what do the team do now?
There's not many options either internally or on the free agent market for the Oilers to look too right now, but Brown just hasn't made an impact this season, and if they waive him or trade him now, they will save themselves that money, so it seems like a no-brainer at this point.
