The Edmonton Oilers have been a busy team over the past seven days, and now GM Stan Bowman has revealed the teams plans for Evander Kane.

After a wild seven days for the Oilers, the roster is looking more and more set heading into their Stanley Cup chase in 2024/25, but there's still one question looming large over the organization. That question revolves around the controversial Evander Kane, whose future remains up in the air, with new GM Stan Bowman addressing the situation in a recent interview.
When asked about the potential of putting Kane on LTIR, the move that has been expected by many ahead of the season, this is what the brand new GM had to say;
"The way we're situated right now, we are going to be able to start the season with [Kane] not being on [LTIR]"

The reported reason behind it is that Bowman can't accrue more cap space with Kane on LTIR, suggesting that they may look to trade him at some point, but regardless, this is a move that could be made with the intention of more big roster changes. With the loss of both Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway in exchange for two mid-round picks, the Oilers lineup will be interesting as we head towards training camp, but for now, expect to see Kane suiting up early in the season as they look to go one better than they did a season ago.
