Last night former Oiler and current San Jose Shark Klim Kostin faced a terrifying moment in the team's game. On a normal-looking play, Kostin was struck by a skate in an incredibly sensitive area.

The Edmonton Oilers have had several young players who have not worked out in recent years move to new homes. One of those notable players is Klim Kostin who is now a member of the San Jose Sharks. During the Sharks game last night Kostin was hit by a skate while making a hit. The skate came up from a falling player and hit Kostin between the legs.

Kostin found himself heading off the ice very gingerly. After being hit many fans watching in the arena and at home did not expect Kostin to return. However, just a few minutes later Kostin was seen taking a shift in the third period.
Nope, he's taken two shifts in the third
Kostin would go on to finish the game and seems to be okay according to all accounts. Kostin's short stint with the Sharks has been full of action and has potentially revitalized his career before last night's incident.

Kostin Finding His Way In The NHL Thanks To New Opportunity

Klim Kostin as mentioned before was never really a fit as an Edmonton Oiler. After being sent to the Detroit Red Wings Kostin has been trying to get his career back on track. Unfortunately, Kostin floundered with the Red Wings as well and was traded to the San Jose Sharks.
Since heading out West though Kostin has had an absolute bounce back to his career. In 6 games with the Oilers Kostin has 5 points. At just 24 years old Kostin looks to be a potential key piece of the Sharks' future. His success and the Oilers' lack of forward depth this season begs the question do the Oilers give up on players too quickly?
