The Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch provided a massive update on Evander Kane's status ahead of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers.

Kane has been affected by a sports hernia that forced him to miss the last three games or the regular season. In the playoffs, he was limited to four goals and four assists in 18 games visibly troubled by his injury.
In game six of the Western Conference Finals , it reached a new level. He hurt himself while delivering a hit on an opponent, forcing him to retreat to the locker room. He went back on the bench, but didn't take a single shift in the third period, ending his night with a mere 4:39 of ice time.
Today, in an update, Kris Knoblauch revealed that Kane is expected to be ready to play by the start of the Finals, on Saturday.
"Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch said he expects winger Evander Kane to be ready to start the Stanley Cup Final. Kane played just 4:39 in Game 6 vs. DAL because of an injury. He's been playing through a sports hernia."
The Oilers will need all their depth players to rise up in the Finals if they want to beat the Florida Panthers.
More to come.
