The Edmonton Oilers are looking to make sure everyone is in playoff form if needed, and that means former first-rounder Philip Broberg will get another shot.

With just two games left to go in the 2023-24 regular season, the Edmonton Oilers are calling up Philip Broberg from the Bakersfield Condors to see how he looks if needed in the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs.

22 year old defenceman Philip Broberg was the 8th overall pick of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2019 NHL draft. Since then, the Swede has played a total of 79 games in the NHL, with 2 goals and 9 assists. He has been unable to find a steady spot in the Oilers lineup, and has played 48 games with the Bakersfield Condors in 2023-24

Don't be surprised if he plays against both Arizona and Colorado.
Should Broberg remain with Edmonton once the playoffs begin, Bakersfield will be left without one of their best players as they enter the post season. Of course, the NHL comes first. Broberg being in the lineup for the Oilers final two games of the season will also allow coach Kris Knobloch to rest lineup regulars going into the post season.
