Play La Bamba in Beantown! Leon Draisaitl came through big time, scoring two goals, including the game-winner in overtime as the Edmonton Oilers (38-20-2) rallied past the Boston Bruins (36-13-15) 2-1 in overtime at TD Garden. And who else but Connor McDavid setting him up for that beautiful cross-ice pass? That extended his point streak to a dozen games.

McDavid and Draisaitl Shine in Oilers Overtime Victory:

The win extended the Oilers winning streak to five games. Yet it wasn't easy against these Bruins. Pavel Zacha got things rolling for Boston early in the third period, but Draisaitl had other plans, scoring a clutch goal with just over a minute left in regulation to force overtime.
Both teams were evenly matched, with 26 shots on goal each, and neither could capitalize on the power play. Then when it mattered most, Draisaitl made it count, netting the lone shot of overtime to seal the deal.
Props to Stuart Skinner between the pipes, making 25 saves to keep the Oilers in it. Linus Ullmark did his part for Boston, stopping 24 shots.
Bruins Forward James van Riemsdyk hitting a huge milestone, playing in his 1,000th NHL game.
Overall, it was a nail-biter of a game, but the Oilers came out on top, showing their resilience and determination.
They're now 3511-1 (.755) since Kris Knoblauch took over for Jay Woodcroft behind the bench. They've been playing like a well-oiled machine and the standings now reflect that. They're five points ahead of the reigning Stanley Cup champions Vegas Golden Knights for second in the Pacific Division with two games in hand.
