Dumba made a pretty forceful shove against the wall, yet Bedard no longer had the puck at the point of contact. As expected, this player is now under fire for this late hit.
However, this belief is clearly not unanimous. Other avid NHL watchers have made the argument that because Dumba was already making a move when Bedard had the puck, it does not constitute a late hit.
With Chicago currently ahead 4-2, a penalty for Dumba may not matter at this point. However, it is fair to say that if Bedard wants a long, successful career in the NHL, he needs to step up his focus during these games.
