After being named the most hated player in the NHL earlier this year, Florida Panthers Stanley Cup winner Nick Cousins remains unsigned.

Nick Cousins had an unusual, but ultimately victorious season this year in the NHL. Cousins has played a brutal style of hockey, and it cost him time and playing ability on the ice as he nursed largely self-inflicted injuries.
"The Florida Panthers have placed C Nick Cousins (concussion protocol) on Injured Reserve, retroactive to January 2.

Additionally, the Panthers have recalled RW Mackie Samoskevich from Charlotte (AHL)."
Despite his medical protocols throughout the regular season, Cousins was able to make several appearances in the recent Stanley Cup playoffs. Though he only recorded one assist in his 12 playoff games, the Florida Panthers successfully took down the Edmonton Oilers in Game 7 of the Finals, earning him the chance to get his name etched onto the Cup.
"NICK COUSINS IS A STANLEY CUP CHAMPION!!"
Despite this success, Nick Cousins remains unsigned heading into the 2024-25 NHL season. The 31-year-old forward is known for his dirty hits and generally nasty playing, earning him the title of the player you want to punch in the face most over Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand. This is what many attribute to his inability to land a deal.
"Nick Cousins was voted the most punchable face in the NHL this year and now we all know why"
No matter what happens in the next few months, Nick Cousins can always appreciate getting his name on the highly-coveted Stanley Cup. Yet, with bad stats and a worse reputation, it could be a while before he gets a deal for his next season in the NHL.
