With the trade deadline about three weeks away, there is, of course, plenty of talk about who might be on the move and who won't be. A lot of those rumours are swirling around goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury of the Minnesota Wild, and he's now speaking openly about them.

Marc-Andre Fleury Addresses Trade Rumours

The future Hockey Hall-of-Famer did an interview in his home province of Quebec, where he was asked about the possibility of a trade. Fleury said he's not concentrating on it at all.
"Every year, when players' contracts come to an end, names always circulate in the rumors a little to change places. For me, my club is Minnesota. We have such a good group of guys and good chemistry. I've been here for more than two seasons. I'm not thinking about leaving and going somewhere else. I want to continue to fight with my team to try to make the playoffs. "
The Wild went into this season with high expectations. It has not worked out. With the trade deadline coming on March 8th, General Manager Bill Guerin will have to decide whether to flip Fleury for assets, or keep him in the lineup in the hopes of reaching the post season. Minnesota is currently three points out of a wild card spot in the Western Conference, so this won't be an easy decision to make.

The Possibility of a Trade is Addressed by Marc-Andre Fleury

Fleury has not yet decided whether he'll play next season, saying he will make up his mind once the current season ends. He was recently honoured for playing his 1000th game in the NHL, something he indicated he's happy with, but also happy to put behind him.

"It seems like it's stretching. Since the start of the season, I have been hearing about the 1000th match and the 552nd victory. I was happy to hit the plateaus, but I'm also happy to move on. It was really special for me and my family."
