With the NHL season now well underway and a major trade already happening early in the year, it's now the time when teams start to figure out their plans, and with that comes potential trades.
On the surface, it might be a strange one, but given that Mantha is off the books after this season and the cap difference between he and Armia would help Washington save money, it makes more and more sense.
Despite neither player being of elite status, they're both effective in their given roles, and with Mantha earning $5.7 in the final year of his contract and Armia costing just $3.4 million, it would be a good deal for both sides.
Both players have been in trade rumours for a long time now, and it would be a surprise if they weren't moved soon whether it happens in this deal or not, but it appears the trading is about to get red-hot around the NHL.
