Tonight the NHL's Department of Player Safety announced that they have handed down a suspension to defenseman Kaiden Guhle. The suspension comes from a slash given out by Kaiden Guhle last night.

The NHL's Department of Player Safety put out an announcement on X confirming a one-game suspension for defenseman Kaiden Guhle.
Montreal's Kaiden Guhle has been suspended for one game for slashing Philadelphia's Travis Konecny.

Kaiden Guhle had a virtual meeting with the league to discuss his punishment which was ultimately one game. The lack of games comes from the fact that this is Kaiden Guhle's first suspension and the play did not end in an injury. With the Montreal Canadiens season winding down his absence is not as crucial as it would be if the Canadiens were in a playoff spot.
With Kaiden Guhle out for one game the Montreal Canadiens could look to get one of their younger defensemen an appearance in the NHL.
