In Game 1 on Tuesday, the Moose took an early lead but couldn't hold on, falling short with a 6-3 loss despite a third-period push. Then, in Game 2 on Thursday, they fired 41 shots on Stars' goaltender Remi Poirier but couldn't find the back of the net, losing 2-0.
It's a disappointing end for the Winnipeg Jets AHL affiliate, especially considering their turnaround from a rough start to the season. At the midway point of their 72-game schedule, they found themselves at the bottom of the league standings with a record of 12-23-1, seemingly destined for a forgettable season.
At one point, they were dead last in the AHL with a franchise-worst 11-game losing streak. Yet they rallied in the second half, finishing strong with a 34-25-2-1 record and securing a playoff spot.
Although the early exit stings, it's commendable that they made it to the playoffs after their rocky start. They showed resilience and determination, and while they couldn't quite carry that momentum into the postseason, their efforts didn't go unnoticed.
